Frequently Asked Questions about Sterling Silver Rings
Q. How do I clean my jewelry?
A. Caring and Cleaning Sterling Silver Jewelry
Never dip any silver jewelry in any kind of commercial cleaning solutions even though it may say that it is for silver jewelry. This is definitely not recommended for any stones.
We do not recommend cleaning your jewelry with toothpaste and a toothbrush as you will be scratching the silver although dish liquid soap and a soft cloth are okay to use.
The best way to clean your jewelry is with a professional jewelry polishing cloth. The cloth is treated with cleaning chemicals and not only will the cloth last a long time. Simply rub the part gently with the cloth and you will really be amazed how effective these cloths are!
You can buy the clothes at Wal-Mart, Target, drugstores, jewelry stores, etc.
It is best to keep your jewelry in a fabric-lined case or a box that has individual compartments. If you cannot do this, keep it in a dry place (bathroom not recommended). Moisture causes silver to tarnish quicker.
Q. Where does my Silver come from?
A. We carry all American Made Sterling Silver Jewelry.
Q. Why is my Sterling Silver Tarnishing?
A. Copper, the other metal often used in Sterling Silver that can react with oxygen in the air and can cause tarnishing. To prevent tarnishing, store your Sterling Silver jewelry in airtight ziplock bags when not in use. The best way to prevent tarnishing is to wear your Sterling Silver jewelry frequently.
Q. How do I care for my Turquoise?
A. Handle your turquoise jewelry carefully to avoid scratching it. Don't store turquoise with harder gemstones or other materials that might rub against it and cause damage.
Keep turquoise away from high heat and chemicals such as oils, perfumes, and household cleaners. Even stabilized turquoise can be affected by a constant bombardment of chemicals.
Clean your turquoise in warm, sudsy water and dry it immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid commercial jewelry cleansers.
